The Luck of the Wicked

Day 6 in New York!

Our last day in New York! We weren't really sure what to do today since we had all our luggage with us, so we kind of winged it. We decided that since it was our last day and there was a matinee for Wicked, that we should try our luck for the last time (plus we had gone to the lottery everyday so far). It was also a hot and humid day so it was nice to get out of the sunshine and stay in the shaded area of the theatre.

So, knowing our luck we won! Figures, while waiting we even discussed that if we did win it would be the most inconvenient time to win because we had all our stuff with us and we didn't know if they would allow us to check our luggage.

After we collected our tickets we had about 2 hours to kill so we decided to venture to the upper east side and grab some Laduree macrons. We luckily caught a bus heading up, but on our way back it was a little bit more complicated. But we made it just in time for the show :)

Afterwards we wandered around Times Square for a bit and then decided to slowly head over to the Mega Bus stop which was a ways away.

We had dinner at this Deli/Pizzeria/Bakery where I ended up buying too many baked goods :P

While walking we came across the Cake Boss Shop in NY and decided to pick up a cannoli and cheesecake! The cheesecake was by far the best thing I have ever eaten in my life! I would go back to NYC just to get another slice of that.

We managed to make it to the bus stop about an hour early so we could get decent seats on the bus. Luckily the bus wasn't too full so we both got 2 seats to ourselves :)

Having my macrons on the bus :)

Overall it was an amazing trip! And I can't wait to visit NYC again! :)

Glass Slippers are so Back

Day 5 in New York!

So the rain decided to come back... We got up early in the morning today, the sunshine was out but went away by 10 am. Which was okay because we sat outside from 8 - 10 am for student rush tickets to see Cinderella Broadway! :O

Radio City and the entrance to the Top of the Rock

After we got our tickets we started heading over the the observation deck but then decided to stop into Anthropology which was across the street. After we came out with our purchases it was raining. My friend decided that we should wait and see if it cleared up later in the day. So we headed over to the 9/11 Memorial

 South Tower 9/11 Memorial

After hiding out in a hotel trying to decide what to do next I decided to go up the Top of the Rock while my friend roamed around NYC because it didn't look like it was going to clear up any time soon. Plus the next day we were leaving and would have all our luggage with us.

Through the rain it was still a beautiful sight
 So many people up top...

View of Central Park (which is massive!)
 Rockefeller Centre

Now back to the Broadway Theatre to see Cinderella!!!

Rodgers and Hammerstien's Cinderella Starring:

Laura Osnes as Ella (Cinderella)
Santino Fontana as Prince Topher
Victoria Clark as Crazy Marie (Fairy Godmother)
Harriet Harris as Madame
Peter Barlett as Sebastian
Ann Harada as Charlotte
Greg Hildreth as Jean-Michel
Marla Mindelle as Gabrielle
Phumzile Sojola as Lord Pinkleton

"Glass Slippers are so back" =P / Laura and Santino with Herman the fish. They are both so adorable!

The show was amazing and magical! I definitely recommend going and seeing it! I loved the sassy-ness of the characters and how the prince was so awkwardly adorably charming, you just fall in love with him. And Ella (Laura) is amazing! Her voice is so lovely and sounds straight out of a fairytale. Crazy Marie was hilarious and so entertaining. The entire cast have amazing voices and everything was just... AMAZINGLY MAGICAL!! no words can really describe this. Just go and see it for yourself! =P
